Beth McCready

Technical Specialist
Creative Arts & Technology

Driven by curiosity and creativity, Beth specialises in digital design for creative practices within higher education. A graduate of NTU with a BA (Hons) in Decorative Arts, she bring a deep understanding of both material and digital making to her role. Beth's work bridges art, technology, and teaching, supporting students in exploring the full potential of computer-aided design across disciplines such as graphics, fashion, textiles, illustration, animation, stage & screen. Skilled in a wide range of software and digital processes, from laser cutting and eye tracking to embroidery, and motion design, she takes pride in making complex techniques accessible and inspiring. Passionate about fostering technical confidence and creative freedom, Beth delivers engaging demonstrations and maintains dynamic, collaborative workshops. Naturally inventive and a dedicated problem-solver, she thrives on helping ideas take shape, whether through material, medium, or method.

Created during the pandemic, this collection explores the poignant duality
of joy and mortality, celebrating life while confronting the profound gravity of loss. Through a specialised practice in chemical textile manipulation and digital print, the work
reflects both technical mastery and emotional depth. The skills honed at Nottingham Trent University now inform my teaching, where I support students in refining their digital design practice.
